What is MicroChanneling/Microneedling?
Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that involves the use of fine needles to create controlled micro-injuries in the skin.  These tiny punctures stimulate the body's natural wound healing processes, leading to increased production of collagen, melanocytes, fibroblasts and elastin, which are essential for healthy, youthful-looking skin.

 Benefits of MicroChanneling/Microneedling:

1. **Improves Skin Texture and Tone**: Helps to smooth out rough or uneven skin and can reduce the appearance of large pores.

2. **Reduces Fine Lines and Wrinkles**: The increased collagen production helps to plump up the skin and improve the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

3. **Minimizes Scars**: Effective for reducing the appearance of acne scars and other types of scars.

4. **Reduces Hyperpigmentation**: Can help in evening out skin tone and reducing dark spots or hyperpigmentation.

5. **Enhances Product Absorption**: Creates channels in the skin that can help topical products penetrate more deeply and work more effectively.

Procedure:

1. **Preparation**: The skin is cleansed, and a numbing cream may be applied to minimize discomfort.

2. **MicroChanneling/Microneedling**: A device with fine needles is passed over the skin to create tiny punctures.

3. **Post-Treatment**: After the procedure, the skin might be red and slightly swollen, similar to a mild sunburn. This usually subsides within a few days. Hydrating serums are often applied to aid in the healing process.

Considerations:

- **Downtime**: Minimal, with most people returning to their regular activities within a day or two.

- **Results**: Gradual and improve over time, with multiple sessions often recommended for optimal results.

Collagen production doesn't stop entirely but begins to decline as you age. This process typically starts in your mid-20s.

Key Points About Collagen Production and Aging:

1. **Mid-20s**: Around this age, the body's collagen production starts to decrease by about 1-1.5% per year.

2. **30s-40s**: Visible signs of aging, such as fine lines and wrinkles, start to become more noticeable as the collagen reduction becomes more apparent.

3. **50s and Beyond**: Collagen levels continue to drop significantly, leading to more pronounced skin aging, including sagging and deeper wrinkles.

 Factors Affecting Collagen Production:

- **Sun Exposure**: UV radiation can accelerate collagen breakdown.

- **Smoking**: Chemicals in tobacco smoke can damage collagen and elastin in the skin.

- **Diet**: Poor nutrition, especially low levels of vitamin C, can impair collagen synthesis.

- **Genetics**: Genetic factors play a role in how quickly collagen production declines.

- **Hormonal Changes**: Particularly during menopause, women experience a more rapid decline in collagen levels.

While the natural decline in collagen production is inevitable, maintaining a healthy lifestyle, using sun protection, and considering treatments like Microneedling can help support and stimulate collagen production, keeping the skin healthier and more youthful-looking for longer.

Stretch Marks

Stretch marks are the result of the deeper collagen layers of the skin stretching beyond its normal limits. Skin Needling has been a more effective way to minimize the appearance of the stretch marks, where lasers and other creams have very little positive results...the dermal damage that is performed to the area will allow your own collagen, elastin and your natural melanocytes to begin the repair by improving the blood supply to the treated area. Though the stretch mark will never return to it's normal state..there will be significant improvement and the healing period (repair) will continue up to a year. This procedure can be performed as often as every 6 weeks...and all skin types
are candidates.

WE ONLY DO SMALL AREAS OF STRETCH MARKS

NO LARGER THAN AREA SHOWN BELOW!

LOWER ABDOMEN STRETCH MARKS

This will help to improve the appearance of Stetch Marks.

This will not  get rid of them or tighten the skin.

The stimulation of collagen and melanocites will make them look less noticeable.  It is recommended to repeat every 6 months to a year.

Excessive skin may need to be surgically excised.  A consultation with a Board Certified Plastic Surgeon is recommneded.
